  • Uttar Pradesh launched the fifth phase of Mission Shakti on 22 September 2025, coinciding with Sharadiya Navratri.
  • Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the month-long campaign, highlighting the government’s commitment to women’s safety, dignity, and empowerment through stronger policing, awareness, and legal support.
  • Police presence has been increased through foot patrols, activation of PRV-112 vehicles, and field visits by senior officers.
  • The initiative has deployed 44,177 women police personnel across 57,000 village panchayats and 14,000 urban wards.
  • Women officers are engaging directly with communities to spread awareness about rights, welfare schemes, and safety measures.
  • The women’s helpline 1090 remains fully functional for swift grievance redressal.
  • Awareness drives are being conducted in schools and colleges through short films on women’s safety and gender equality, while Pink Booths in municipal corporations provide integrated support. Legal aid is extended to women in jails to safeguard their rights.
  • The Anti-Romeo Squad has been empowered to take strict action against offenders, supported by fast-tracked trials and expanded legal aid.
  • Special operations under the campaign include Operation Garuda against cybercrime, Operation Bachpan for child rescue, Operation Majnu for harassment cases, Operation Nasha Mukti against drugs, and Operation Eagle against repeat offenders.
