The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has extended its long-standing partnership with French multinational Schneider Electric SE to strengthen automation systems at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC), Sriharikota. This extension builds upon more than 15 years of cooperation, during which Schneider Electric’s technologies supported missions such as Chandrayaan-3 and the GSLV-F16/NISAR launch. Under the renewed agreement, Schneider Electric will modernize mission-critical infrastructure, focusing on launch vehicle and satellite operations, advanced control systems, energy management, and sustainability practices. The aim is to boost precision, reliability, and efficiency in India’s growing space programme. As ISRO expands its mission portfolio—including deep space exploration, satellite constellations, and human spaceflight—automation and energy-efficient operations are becoming central to its future strategy. Officials note that this partnership reflects India’s commitment to leveraging international expertise while ensuring self-reliance in space technology, positioning ISRO to compete with top global space agencies in mission success and innovation.

  • The Indian Navy’s First Training Squadron (1TS)—INS Tir, INS Sujata, INS Shardul, and ICGS Sarathi—arrived at Mombasa, Kenya, where they were warmly received by the Kenya Navy, India’s Defence Advisor, and the Acting High Commissioner of India.
  • The deployment, covering Seychelles, Mauritius, La Réunion, and Mozambique before reaching Kenya, is part of India’s long-range training mission in the South West Indian Ocean Region.
  •  During their Kenya stay, the navies of both countries will engage in Maritime Partnership Exercises (MPX), Passage Exercises (PASSEX), and joint training drills to enhance operational interoperability.
  • In addition to defence activities, cultural exchanges such as a yoga session, Navy Band performances, and community outreach programmes are planned to build people-to-people ties.
