About Super Garuda Shield:
- The exercise was first launched in 2006 as Garuda Shield, a bilateral training program between the US and Indonesia.
- In 2022, the scope was expanded to include multiple partner nations, and the title was upgraded to “Super Garuda Shield.”
- It aims to strengthen interoperability, build trust, and enhance readiness among the armed forces of friendly nations.
Super Garuda Shield 2025 Highlights:
- Scale: Over 4,100 Indonesian troops and 1,300 American soldiers are participating this year.
- Participating Nations (14): Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Indonesia, Japan, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
- Observer Nations: Cambodia, India, and Papua New Guinea.
