Seven Years of Ayushman Bharat: Revolutionising Public Healthcare in India
  • As the Ayushman Bharat scheme completes seven years, India stands at the threshold of a new era in public healthcare delivery. Launched in 2018, the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) has emerged as the world’s largest health assurance programme, reshaping healthcare access, affordability, and quality across the nation.
  • The scheme has created a vast healthcare network, linking more than four lakh healthcare facilities and nearly seven lakh professionals. With over 41 crore Ayushman Cards issued, it ensures cashless treatment for over 55 crore beneficiaries, reducing dependence on out-of-pocket payments and making healthcare accessible to the most vulnerable.
