- Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan’ (SNSPA) in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, along with the inauguration of the 8th Rashtriya Poshan Maah. The initiative seeks to improve women’s health as a foundation for stronger families and a healthier society.
- As part of the campaign, more than 10 lakh health camps will be organised across India between 17th September and 2nd October at government health centres. These camps will provide essential health check-ups, nutrition counselling, and preventive care services, with a focus on women’s health and child well-being.
- The programme is being jointly led by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and the Ministry of Women & Child Development, ensuring a comprehensive approach to addressing health and nutrition challenges.
- By linking women’s health with family strength, the Abhiyaan highlights the government’s commitment to preventive healthcare, nutrition awareness, and community participation. The launch of SNSPA alongside Poshan Maah further reinforces India’s goal of reducing malnutrition and promoting holistic well-being.
- The campaign marks another step toward building a healthier, empowered nation under the vision of “Swasth Bharat, Viksit Bharat.”
