PM Modi Inaugurates PM Mitra Park in Dhar
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the PM Mitra Park in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, marking a significant step in strengthening India’s textile industry. The park is part of the Government of India’s scheme to set up 7 PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Parks across the country.
  • The Dhar park will focus on reviving the rich heritage of Maheshwari sarees, promoting women’s empowerment, and boosting the rural economy through large-scale textile production. By integrating traditional craftsmanship with modern technology, the initiative aims to create a globally competitive textile hub.
  • The PM MITRA Parks have been approved in seven states — Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra. The scheme is inspired by the government’s 5F vision – Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign, reflecting the complete textile value chain under one umbrella.
  • The Dhar park is expected to generate significant employment opportunities, attract investment, and contribute to India’s goal of becoming a global leader in textiles and apparel exports.
  • It also aligns with the government’s broader vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and sustainable rural development.
