• The Ministry of Education has released the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2025, assessing and ranking higher education institutions across 17 categories.
• Launched in 2015, NIRF ranks institutions on parameters such as teaching and learning, research, graduation outcomes, outreach and inclusivity, and peer perception.
• In the latest rankings, IIT Madras retained its first position in the Overall Category for the seventh consecutive year.
• IISc Bengaluru once again secured the top position in the Universities Category, marking its tenth consecutive year at the top.
• In management, IIM Ahmedabad continued its dominance, ranking first for the sixth consecutive year.
• The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, led the Medical Category for the eighth year in a row, while IIT Roorkee maintained its first rank in Architecture and Planning for the fifth consecutive year.
• The National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru, retained its leadership in Law, and Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi, topped the Pharmacy Category for the second consecutive year.
• This year’s rankings were released across 17 categories, including Overall, SDGs institutes, Universities, Colleges, Research Institutions, Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Medical, Dental, Law, Architecture and Planning, Agriculture and Allied Sectors, Open Universities, Skill Universities, and State Public Universities.
