- The Union Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare has organized the ‘National Agriculture Conference – Rabi Abhiyan 2025’ at Pusa, New Delhi.
- For the first time, the Rabi Conference is being held as a two-day event, initiated by Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
- The theme of the conference is “One Nation – One Agriculture – One Team”, emphasizing the need for coordinated efforts among states, policymakers, and researchers to strengthen India’s agriculture sector.
- During the event, the minister stressed that future agricultural research should address the real challenges faced by farmers instead of being limited to theoretical studies.
- As part of the government’s broader agricultural vision, the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan will be launched in October 2025 to identify and resolve key issues in farming. Chouhan also highlighted that India’s agriculture sector is currently growing at 3.7%, the highest in the world, which strengthens India’s aspiration to become the “food basket of the world.”
- The conference brought together senior agricultural officials, researchers, and policymakers from across the country, fostering dialogue on strategies to improve productivity, sustainability, and farmer welfare in the upcoming Rabi season.
