Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the 'Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan' on 2 August 2026 through a nationwide video conference.

The campaign aims to build a drug-free, healthy and confident youth population.
This is considered essential for achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
It seeks to turn the anti-drug movement into a Jan Bhagidari (people's movement).
This will happen through active participation of youth, educational institutions, spiritual organisations and civil society.
The initiative promotes awareness, prevention, rehabilitation and social support for people affected by drug addiction.

100-Week Campaign: The campaign will run for 100 weeks. Every Sunday will focus on awareness and community activities related to sports, culture, yoga, meditation and public outreach.
Nationwide Participation: Over one crore youth took the anti-drug pledge. Students, NSS volunteers, MY Bharat volunteers, Governors and Chief Ministers joined the nationwide launch.
Kashi Declaration: The campaign builds upon the Kashi Declaration. It was developed in consultation with more than 125 spiritual organisations and several NGOs to strengthen the fight against substance abuse.
Role of MY Bharat: The MY Bharat platform will mobilise volunteers, youth leaders and educational institutions. They will spread awareness and organise anti-drug activities across the country.
Focus on Rehabilitation: The Prime Minister said youth recovering from addiction should get support, rehabilitation and respect, not social stigma.
Educational Institutions: Colleges and universities have been encouraged to hold regular awareness programmes.

MY Bharat (Mera Yuva Bharat)

MY Bharat is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, launched in 2023.
It works as a national platform to connect young people with opportunities for volunteering, leadership, skill development and nation-building initiatives.

The Kashi Declaration is a national pledge against substance abuse.
It was prepared through consultations with spiritual organisations and civil society groups.
A common framework for awareness, prevention, rehabilitation and community participation provided by Kashi Declaration to achieve a Drug-Free India.
