  • Malayalam cinema legend Mohanlal has been named the recipient of the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award 2023, India’s highest recognition in cinema.
  • The Government of India announced that the award will be formally presented at the 71st National Film Awards ceremony on September 23, 2025.

  • He has won five National Film Awards, which include two Best Actor awards, a Special Jury Mention, a Special Jury Award, and Best Feature Film as a producer.
  • He also holds nine Kerala State Film Awards.
