• Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated the Nagpur–Pune Vande Bharat Express, India’s longest-route Vande Bharat train, aimed at significantly improving rail connectivity across Maharashtra.
• The launch was held via video conferencing, with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis attending the event at Nagpur Central Railway Station.
• The premium semi-high-speed train will cover the Nagpur–Pune journey in just 12 hours, offering a faster and more comfortable alternative for passengers.
• Alongside this service, the Prime Minister also flagged off two additional train services to further strengthen regional and intercity travel.
• Officials stated that the extended Vande Bharat network will not only save travel time but also promote economic and tourism opportunities across key cities in Maharashtra.
