• India has secured the third position in the Asia Power Index 2025, ranking behind the United States and China, as per Australia’s Lowy Institute. The report highlights India’s growing regional influence driven by stronger economic growth, expanding military capability and wider diplomatic outreach.
• ऑस्ट्रेलिया के लोवी इंस्टीट्यूट द्वारा जारी एशिया पावर इंडेक्स 2025 में भारत अमेरिका और चीन के बाद तीसरे स्थान पर रहा। रिपोर्ट के अनुसार भारत की आर्थिक मजबूती, सैन्य क्षमता और कूटनीतिक पहुंच में वृद्धि ने क्षेत्र में उसकी प्रभावशाली स्थिति को मजबूत किया है।
• The seventh edition of the Index assessed 27 countries and territories using 131 indicators across eight categories—Military Capability, Economic Capability, Defence Networks, Diplomatic Influence, Cultural Influence, Resilience and Future Resources. It offers a comprehensive measure of how countries shape the regional strategic environment.
• इंडेक्स के सातवें संस्करण में एशिया के 27 देशों और क्षेत्रों का 131 संकेतकों के आधार पर मूल्यांकन किया गया। ये संकेतक आठ मुख्य क्षेत्रों—सैन्य क्षमता, आर्थिक क्षमता, रक्षा नेटवर्क, कूटनीतिक प्रभाव, सांस्कृतिक प्रभाव, लचीलापन और भविष्य संसाधन—में विभाजित हैं। यह इंडेक्स यह समझने का व्यापक आकलन करता है कि देश क्षेत्रीय रणनीतिक माहौल को कैसे प्रभावित करते हैं।
• India received an overall score of 40 out of 100, marking a 2% improvement over previous years. For the first time, India has been categorised as a “major power”. The report attributes this rise to strong post-pandemic economic recovery, improved connectivity, better international leverage and technological progress.
• भारत को 100 में से 40 अंक मिले, जो पिछले वर्षों की तुलना में 2% की बढ़ोतरी है। पहली बार भारत को “मुख्य शक्ति” (Major Power) की श्रेणी में रखा गया है। रिपोर्ट इस प्रगति का श्रेय महामारी के बाद मजबूत आर्थिक रिकवरी, बेहतर कनेक्टिविटी, अंतरराष्ट्रीय प्रभाव और तकनीकी प्रगति को देती है।
• The United States topped the Index with a score of 81.7, maintaining its dominant position in Asia. China followed with 73.7, narrowing its difference with the US. India remains far ahead of South and Southeast Asian nations but continues to trail China by a wide margin. Russia showed fresh momentum due to closer ties with China and North Korea, while countries like Japan, Australia and many Southeast Asian states saw modest or mixed changes in their rankings.
• संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका 81.7 अंकों के साथ शीर्ष स्थान पर रहा, जबकि चीन 73.7 अंकों के साथ दूसरे स्थान पर रहा और अमेरिका से अपना अंतर कम किया। भारत दक्षिण और दक्षिण-पूर्व एशिया के देशों से काफी आगे है, लेकिन चीन से अभी भी काफी पीछे है। रूस ने चीन और उत्तर कोरिया के साथ मजबूत साझेदारी के चलते अपनी स्थिति में सुधार दिखाया, जबकि जापान, ऑस्ट्रेलिया और कई दक्षिण-पूर्व एशियाई देशों में मामूली या मिश्रित परिवर्तन देखने को मिले।
