Why In News?

  • India and Bhutan signed a ₹4,000-crore Line of Credit (LoC), inked during the Fifth India–Bhutan Development Cooperation Talks in Thimphu.

About

  • This concessional LoC will go toward energy projects under Bhutan's 13th Five-Year Plan (2024–29).
  • On top of that, India reaffirmed its ₹10,000 crore assistance commitment for the same Five-Year Plan.
  • An MoU on medical research and education got signed too, between AIIMS and Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences.
  • And in a smaller but notable move, India handed over 45 electric vehicles to Bhutan to support its green mobility push.
