• The 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur is being commemorated with major events at Gurdwara Sri Sis Ganj Sahib and Sri Anandpur Sahib. The observance coincides with the 350th Guruship anniversary of Sri Guru Gobind Singh, highlighting the Ninth Guru’s unparalleled sacrifice for religious freedom and the timeless significance of his universal teachings.
• श्री गुरु तेग बहादुर जी की 350वीं शहादत वर्षगांठ गुरुद्वारा श्री सीस गंज साहिब और श्री आनंदपुर साहिब में विशेष आयोजनों के साथ मनाई जा रही है। यह अवसर गुरु गोबिंद सिंह जी की 350वीं गद्दी पर बैठने की वर्षगांठ के साथ भी मेल खाता है, जो नौवें गुरु की धार्मिक स्वतंत्रता के लिए दिए गए अतुलनीय बलिदान और उनके सार्वभौमिक उपदेशों की शाश्वत प्रासंगिकता को उजागर करता है।
• Guru Tegh Bahadur’s martyrdom in 1675 is remembered as a defining moment in the defence of religious freedom during a period of severe persecution. When Kashmiri Pandits sought protection from forced conversions under Mughal rule, the Guru chose to uphold their right to practise their faith even at the cost of his own life. His son, Guru Gobind Singh, later described this sacrifice as the defence of sacred identity and the protection of human dignity.
• 1675 में गुरु तेग बहादुर जी की शहादत धार्मिक स्वतंत्रता की रक्षा के एक ऐतिहासिक क्षण के रूप में याद की जाती है। जब कश्मीरी पंडित मुगल शासन के दौरान जबरन धर्मांतरण से बचाव के लिए उनकी शरण में आए, तब गुरु साहिब ने अपने जीवन की आहुति देकर भी उनके धर्म पालन के अधिकार की रक्षा की। बाद में गुरु गोबिंद सिंह जी ने इस बलिदान को पवित्र पहचान और मानवीय गरिमा की रक्षा के रूप में वर्णित किया।
• The Ninth Guru’s sacrifice is interpreted by scholars in many ways, yet Sikh doctrine defines it as the embodiment of Sarbat Da Bhala — the welfare of all. His stand transcended community boundaries and political lenses, reflecting an unwavering commitment to justice, compassion and the universal right to religious expression. His teachings remain guiding principles for societies striving for harmony and fairness.
• नौवें गुरु के बलिदान की विभिन्न दृष्टिकोणों से व्याख्या की जाती है, परंतु सिख सिद्धांत इसे सरबत दा भला — अर्थात् सभी के कल्याण — की सर्वोच्च अभिव्यक्ति मानता है। उनका निर्णय किसी एक समुदाय या राजनीतिक विचारधारा तक सीमित नहीं था, बल्कि न्याय, करुणा और धार्मिक अभिव्यक्ति की सार्वभौमिक स्वतंत्रता के प्रति अटूट समर्पण का प्रतीक था। उनके उपदेश आज भी सौहार्द और न्याय की तलाश में लगी समाजों के लिए मार्गदर्शक बने हुए हैं।
• Alongside Guru Tegh Bahadur, the sacrifices of Bhai Mati Das, Bhai Sati Das and Bhai Dayala form an integral part of Sikh remembrance. The community honours their steadfastness and their role in shaping Sikh identity. Today’s call is for Sikhs to remain firm in their faith, preserve their Sabat Soorat identity and defend the dignity of religious symbols such as the kirpan and karra. The Guru’s message — to neither instil fear nor submit to fear — continues to guide the Sikh way of courage.
• गुरु तेग बहादुर जी के साथ-साथ भाई मति दास, भाई सती दास और भाई दयाला के बलिदान भी सिख स्मरण का अभिन्न हिस्सा हैं। समुदाय उनकी अडिग आस्था और सिख पहचान के निर्माण में उनके योगदान को नमन करता है। आज का संदेश है कि सिख अपने विश्वास में दृढ़ रहें, अपनी सਬਤ ਸੂਰਤ पहचान बनाए रखें और किर्पान-करा जैसे धार्मिक प्रतीकों की गरिमा की रक्षा करें। गुरु साहिब का संदेश — न किसी को डराना और न किसी के डर में झुकना — आज भी साहसपूर्ण जीवन का मार्गदर्शन करता है।
