MSP Hike for Rabi Crops: The Centre has increased the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for all mandated Rabi crops for the 2026-27 marketing season.
Highest Hike: Safflower received the highest hike of ₹600 per quintal.
Key MSP Revisions (per quintal):
- Wheat: Raised to ₹2,585 (an increase of ₹160).
- Lentil (Masur): Increased by ₹300.
- Rapeseed & Mustard: Increased by ₹250.
- Gram (Chana): Increased by ₹225.
- Barley: Increased by ₹170.
Farmer Benefit: The MSP hike is projected to benefit farmers by approximately ₹84,263 crore.
New Initiative: The Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses has been launched to achieve self-sufficiency in pulse production.
Mission Details:
- Outlay: ₹11,440 crore (for the period 2025-26 to 2030-31).
- Target: To produce 350 lakh tonnes of pulses.
- Beneficiaries: 2 crore farmers are expected to benefit.
