The Indian Air Force wrapped up Exercise ROTOR CLAP III at the Pokhran Field Firing Range in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan on 1–2 August 2026.
About
- Third edition of the IAF's rotary-wing exercise, and this one was built around Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (Counter-UAS).
- Missiles and rockets were fired live as part of the drill, basically to practise counter-drone operations.
- Detecting, tracking and neutralising unmanned aerial threats — that was the core focus throughout.
- Helicopters in action included the AH-64 Apache, Mi-25/35, HAL Prachand, Chinook, Mi-17 and Dhruv.
- Helicopter-based tactics and operational procedures were tested against emerging drone threats.
