Dubai to Launch 15-km Autonomous Corridor by 2026
  •  Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the Dubai Autonomous Zone (DAZ), a 15-km corridor dedicated to driverless vehicles and marine transport, to be operational by early 2026.
  • The corridor will link Al Jaddaf Metro Station, Dubai Creek Harbour, and Dubai Festival City.
  • The ecosystem will include autonomous Metro, RoboTaxis, RoboBuses, shuttles, logistics vehicles, delivery robots, cleaning bots, and marine abras. RoboTaxi trials will begin in late 2025 in partnership with Uber and WeRide, targeting 1,000 taxis by 2028.
  • Already testing over 50 autonomous vehicles across Dubai, the city aims to ensure safety and pedestrian protection. Inspired by Abu Dhabi’s TXAI program, which logged 430,000+ km without incidents, the DAZ supports Dubai’s vision of achieving 25% autonomous mobility by 2030.
