• The Delhi government has introduced the ‘Pink Saheli Smart Card’, enabling women and transgender commuters to travel free of cost on all Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) and cluster buses. • दिल्ली सरकार ने ‘पिंक सहेली स्मार्ट कार्ड’ योजना शुरू की है, जिसके तहत महिलाएं और ट्रांसजेंडर यात्री अब दिल्ली परिवहन निगम (DTC) और क्लस्टर बसों में मुफ्त यात्रा कर सकेंगे। यह पहल सुरक्षा, सुलभता और समावेशिता को बढ़ावा देने के उद्देश्य से शुरू की गई है।
• Announcing the scheme on November 2, 2025, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta stated that all women and transgender persons above 12 years of age are eligible. The card serves as a digital travel pass, reducing daily transport expenses for working women and students while promoting greater use of public transport.
• मुख्यमंत्री रेखा गुप्ता ने 2 नवंबर 2025 को इस योजना की घोषणा करते हुए कहा कि 12 वर्ष से अधिक आयु की सभी महिलाएं और ट्रांसजेंडर व्यक्ति इस कार्ड के लिए पात्र हैं। यह कार्ड एक डिजिटल ट्रैवल पास के रूप में काम करेगा, जिससे कामकाजी महिलाओं और छात्रों के दैनिक यात्रा खर्चों में कमी आएगी और सार्वजनिक परिवहन के उपयोग को प्रोत्साहन मिलेगा।
• Officials highlighted that the scheme would also help reduce traffic congestion and pollution by shifting commuters from private to public transport.
• अधिकारियों ने बताया कि यह योजना सड़कों पर भीड़ और प्रदूषण कम करने में भी मदद करेगी, क्योंकि इससे अधिक लोग निजी वाहनों की बजाय सार्वजनिक परिवहन का उपयोग करेंगे।
• Alongside the travel scheme, the government introduced an education reform, allowing private unaided schools in non-conforming areas to apply for official recognition — addressing long-pending issues that denied many children their right to education.
• यात्रा योजना के साथ ही सरकार ने एक शैक्षणिक सुधार भी लागू किया, जिसके तहत ग़ैर-अनुरूप क्षेत्रों में स्थित निजी अनुदान-रहित विद्यालयों को अब मान्यता प्राप्त करने की अनुमति दी गई है — इससे उन कई बच्चों को शिक्षा के अधिकार का लाभ मिलेगा जो पहले इससे वंचित थे।
