• Arunachal Pradesh will host its first-ever Sunrise Festival from 29 December 2025 to 2 January 2026 in Dong village, Anjaw district, the easternmost settlement of India.
• Known for receiving the country’s first rays of the sun every day, Dong’s unique geographical position near the tri-junction of India, China, and Myanmar makes it an ideal destination for this celebration of nature and culture.
• Situated at 1,240 metres above sea level, Dong offers panoramic sunrise views along with a rich tribal heritage.
• The village is accessible by road from Tezu and Dibrugarh airports and Tinsukia railway station in Assam, making it reachable for domestic and international tourists.
• The five-day Sunrise Festival will coincide with the New Year season and feature diverse attractions, including ethnic cuisine, eco-tourism activities, adventure sports, and cultural showcases of the region’s tribal lifestyle.
• Organisers aim to position the festival as a unique tourism draw for nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts, while boosting the state’s cultural identity and promoting sustainable tourism in the Northeast.
