The Andhra Pradesh Government has signed an MoU with CSIR-NGRI for detailed exploration of lithium and gallium deposits in the Vempalle area of the Kadapa Basin.
About the MoU
- The MoU was signed between the Andhra Pradesh Mines and Geology Department and CSIR-NGRI.
- It aims to undertake detailed exploration and assessment of lithium and gallium deposits in the Vempalle area of the Kadapa Basin.
- The project will be funded by the National Mineral Exploration Trust (NMET) with an estimated cost of ₹140 crore.
- The exploration will help assess the quantity, quality and economic potential of these critical minerals.
