  • Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the 2nd National Conference of Heads of Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of States and Union Territories in New Delhi.
  • The two-day event aims to strengthen coordination among law enforcement agencies to combat drug trafficking and abuse in the country.
  • On the occasion, the minister released the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Annual Report 2024 and launched the Online Drug Disposal Campaign, a digital initiative to ensure the transparent and speedy destruction of seized narcotics.
  • The conference is being held on the theme “United Resolve, Shared Responsibility”, underlining the collective commitment of central and state agencies in addressing the growing challenge of narcotics.
  • The event witnessed participation of senior officials including Govind Mohan, Secretary (MHA), Tapan Deka, Director, Intelligence Bureau, and Anurag Garg, Director General, NCB, along with heads of state and UT Anti-Narcotics Task Forces.
  • The conference provides a platform for reviewing strategies, sharing best practices, and strengthening mechanisms to dismantle drug networks.
  • The discussions are expected to pave the way for a more coordinated national strategy in tackling narcotics, aligned with the government’s vision of a “Drugs-Free India.”
