Natural Vegetation of India and ISFR report: Which endangered species is found in the montane grasslands of the Western Ghats?

All three species are endemic endangered fauna of the Western Ghats. The Nilgiri Tahr inhabits the montane grasslands above 1,200 meters, while the Lion-tailed Macaque is found in the dense canopy of evergreen forests. The Malabar Giant Squirrel also inhabits the forest canopy. These species face threats from habitat fragmentation, human encroachment, and climate change, making conservation efforts crucial for their survival.
