The National Security Guard (NSG) has launched its first Mahila Commando Conversion Course (MCCC) at its training centre in Manesar, Gurugram, Haryana.

Mahila Commando Conversion Course
- The Mahila Commando Conversion Course has been designed to provide women personnel with specialised training based on the operational requirements of counter-terrorism duties.
- The training focuses on building physical fitness, weapons proficiency and tactical skills. Participants will also receive training in areas such as hostage rescue and tactical intervention.
- The programme is intended to create a larger pool of trained women personnel who can take up specialised security responsibilities across different forces.
About the National Security Guard (NSG)
- The National Security Guard (NSG) is the Ministry of Home Affairs’ nodal national counter-terrorism force.
- It is specially trained and equipped to deal with serious terrorist threats and is deployed only in exceptional situations requiring specialised counter-terror operations.
- The NSG was formally established on 22 September 1986 following a decision by the Union Cabinet in 1984 to create a dedicated force to tackle different forms of terrorism.
- The NSG has two main operational components: the Special Action Group (SAG), comprising personnel from the Indian Army, and the Special Ranger Groups (SRG), which draw personnel from the Central Armed Police Forces and State Police Forces.
- Its vision is to build a “World Class Zero Error Force”, while its motto is “Sarvatra Sarvottam Suraksha.”
