Why In News
The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Cultus Education, in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS), have launched a nationwide initiative to provide cloud computing and artificial intelligence training to young people across India.
The programme will particularly focus on youth from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, helping them gain access to technology skills, industry-recognised credentials and employment opportunities.
Key Highlights
- The initiative aims to provide foundational cloud and AI literacy to 1.5 lakh learners.
- Around 10,000 participants will receive intensive, job-oriented training through the AWS re/Start programme.
- Training will be delivered 100% online, allowing students from smaller cities and underserved areas to participate without relocating.
- The programme will cover all States and Union Territories of India.
- The initiative will conclude with a National Hackathon, where participants can showcase their cloud and AI-based solutions.
AWS re/Start Programme
AWS re/Start is a free, cohort-based workforce development programme designed to help individuals develop practical cloud computing skills and prepare for employment.
Participants will receive training in areas such as:
- Cloud infrastructure
- Networking
- Cybersecurity
- Programming
- Relational databases
- AI fundamentals
The training will include hands-on labs, real-world scenarios, coursework and mentorship.
Employment and Certification
- Participants completing the intensive training will have the opportunity to earn an AWS Certification, providing an industry-recognised credential for cloud computing skills.
- Graduates will also receive access to qualified interview opportunities through connections with local employers.
