Why in News?
Kaziah Liz Mejo, a 19-year-old law student from Mavelikkara, Kerala has won the Miss Universe India 2026 title. She was crowned at the grand finale held in Jaipur. With the win, Kaziah will represent India at the 75th Miss Universe pageant scheduled to be held in Puerto Rico in November 2026.
Who is Kaziah Liz Mejo?
- Kaziah is a law student, model, classical dancer, actor and public speaker from Kerala. She has trained in classical dance for around 12 years and has also learned music.
- She has experience in acting and appeared in the Malayalam film Shylock. Before winning the Miss Universe India title, she represented India at Miss Teen International 2025, where she finished as the first runner-up.
- She also became Miss Universe Kerala 2026 before entering the national competition.
