Why in News?
The Ministry of Tribal Affairs is planning to add nine tribal languages to its AI-powered conversational assistant Jago, which was recently launched to make information about tribal welfare schemes and government programmes easier to access.
About Jago AI Assistant
- Jago is currently available in Hindi and English. The proposed expansion will bring languages already supported by the Adi Vaani platform to Jago.
- Jago is an AI-based conversational platform developed to help people find information about tribal welfare schemes, government policies, programmes, guidelines and official documents.
- Instead of searching through lengthy government documents, users can ask questions in simple language and receive relevant information through the platform. The initiative aims to make government information more accessible, transparent and easier to understand.
- The platform was launched during the National Conclave on Tribal Languages and Museums held in Mysuru, Karnataka.
