Why in News?
India will host the 5th Coast Guard Global Summit (CGGS) in New Delhi in February 2027. The summit will coincide with the 50th anniversary (Swarnim Jayanti) of the Bharatiya Tatrakshak.

- The Bharatiya Tatrakshak hosted a Working Level Meeting (WLM) in hybrid mode as part of preparations for the summit.
- The meeting discussed the CGGS Meeting Guidelines, information-sharing mechanisms and the development of the CGGS website.
- Participating maritime agencies discussed ways to improve cooperation through the exchange of professional expertise, operational experience and best practices.
- The meeting also reviewed the proposed Activity Calendar for future joint engagements.
- The summit aims to strengthen cooperation among Coast Guard and maritime agencies on maritime safety, security and related challenges.
