Why in News?
Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan launched ‘Gnani Artha’, a sovereign AI stack developed by GNANI AI, at Uprashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi, on 28 August 2026.
The platform combines Evon 3.3, a Large Language Model (LLM), with Plexus, a platform designed to connect AI capabilities with real-world applications and institutions.

- Digital Sansad is already using AI-based technologies to make parliamentary content accessible in multiple Indian languages.
- AI-based simultaneous interpretation in eight languages was introduced during the recently concluded Parliament session and is expected to be expanded to all Scheduled Languages.
- The Vice President stressed that India should move beyond being a technology consumer and focus on developing technologies that can be used globally.
What is Sovereign AI?
Sovereign AI refers to a country’s ability to develop, control and operate critical AI technologies using its own infrastructure, talent, data and computing capabilities, reducing dependence on foreign technologies.
